Wi-Fi Audio with FlyPort

Posted by openPicus | On: Nov 15 2010

Thanks to Andrea (one of our best contributors working for Urbino University in Italy) we share this video about his project.

The idea is to make a low cost system for a wireless Audio distribution using the existing Wi-Fi Infrastructure.

We will be able to control our music all over the house using our iPad, iPhone or Android.

In this video the PC on the right is just powering the FlyPort through the USB port. The PC on the left runs Linux and streams music through Wi-Fi connection.

FlyPort is connected to an external VLSI VS1053 MP3 decoder board using SPI (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8954)

There are lot of cables on his desk, but there are no tricks! FlyPort is receiving music by Wi-Fi! :-)
